1. Our fire alarm system is directly connected to the fire brigade. If you hear an acousticalarm signal in your flat or in the public areas, the fire brigade is automatically Informed and will be on site as soon as possible.


2. Leave the building immediately through the stairways and go to the assembly point. This is located opposite the main entrance at the meadow “Michelwiese”.


3. Do not use the elevator in case of fire.


4. Follow the instruction of our staff or of the security service. 5. Re-entering the building is only permitted after clearance by the fire brigade.

If you arrive during or outside opening hours, you can use our self-check-in terminals in the lobby. Outside opening hours, you can open the entrance door with the QR code (which we will send you by e-mail in advance). You can also contact our security service via the touch screen next to the main entrance on the left-hand side. They will open the main entrance door for you by buzzer. 

Since 2015 we are a non-smoking apartment house! We are committed to this promise to our guests. In the Clipper Boardinghouse Hamburg-Michel there is a strict smoking and vaping ban. In case of non-observance of the smoking and steam ban, we therefore reserve the right to charge a special cleaning fee of 500.00 EUR.

The Portuguese coffee “Coffee & Cakes” offers all day to

selected Portuguese food. For 10.00 EUR per Person you can enjoy a breakfast. Please ask the reception staff to purchase vouchers. You can reach the restaurant comfortably on the road.

The coffee "Café Melt" offers cold, hot, sweet and savory

dishes all day. For 15.00 EUR per person you can enjoy an

individual breakfast every day. Please contact the reception for a Clipper breakfast voucher. You can reach the café byfoot in about 2 minutes.

We are happy to provide allergy pillows and blankets on request and subject to availability. Please inform us when making your reservation if you require allergy bedding.

A free starter set of Nespresso capsules is provided in your apartment upon arrival. An instruction manual has been enclosed. Additional capsules can be purchased at reception for a charge of 0.70 EUR each. We will also provide a conventional coffee machine free of charge, subject to availability. We recommend the Rewe delivery service (minimum order value 50.00 EUR). Here you can order directly from Rewe online and have the goods delivered to your flat.

At the back of the Boardinghouse Hamburg-Michel, in the street "Brauerknechtgraben" there is a REWE City Market. The nearest EDEKA Frischemarkt you will find in walking distance of 350 meters in the street "Hafentor 7" directly at the stop "Landungsbrücken".

To turn on the power for various appliances, such as the stove, please use the top toggle switch located right next to your apartment door.

Use our free Internet. On your Smartphone, tablet or laptop,

first select the “Clipper” wireless network and follow the

menu navigation.

For outside lines, please first dial “0”, followed by the area

prefix and the telephone number. The price is 0.20 EUR per

unit. Internal calls are free of charge. The direct number for

the telephone in your apartment is 0049 40 37 69

On the top right of the display you can set by how many

degrees the apartment should be cooled or warmed (-3.0 -

3.0C). At the bottom right you can see a house. If the figure is in the house, the air conditioning is on, if you want to turn off the air conditioning, click once next to the display on the small lines, thus the figure goes out of the house and the air conditioning is turned off. On the left side you see rotors blades, with them you can set the desired strength of the air conditioner.

You will find them somewhat hidden in the pots drawer. To do this, please open the pots drawer, directly under the dishwasher. Now you can pull out the cutlery drawer at the top. 

Open the dishwasher and load it with dishes, cutlery, ect. To insert the dishwashing tab, press the lid open and insert the tab. Then close the compartment again. You can then select a program and press Start.  A dishwasher tab can be found in the kitchen drawer. Additional tabs can be given out at reception free of charge. The left knob is the selection switch. You can also use this switch to turn on the microwave. To do this, please keep the knob pressed for approx. 5 sec. With the right knob you open the door of the microwave, please keep the knob pressed for about 5 seconds. Use the left knob to select the desired wattage. When you have done this, please press the right knob to confirm the input. Now an elapsed time of one minute will be displayed. You can also change this time using the left rotary knob. We are happy to provide you with an iron and ironing board free of charge. Please contact the reception team or our housekeeper.

The sun visor can be operated via the blind switch on the wall. There is a wind sensor on the roof of our house; if it is too windy, the sun visor automatically goes up or cannot be lowered. Since this is a kind of curtain and the tapes could tear in stronger winds, the wind sensor is set more sensitively.

  • Switch off the light when you leave the room. Use natural daylight instead, if possible.
  •  Use only the required amount of towels and bed linen
  •  Switch off the TV, computer and other electronic devices when you are not using them. Do not use standby mode either, as this still consumes energy.
  • Set the air conditioning or heating to an appropriate temperature and switch it off when you leave the room.
  • Avoid the misuse of water. Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth or shaving and report dripping taps or leaking toilets to our staff.
  • Use the stairwell instead of the lift if you can to save energy.
  • Follow the instructions on waste separation and try to use as little packaging material as possible
    • Use the towel several times before changing it. Hang it up to dry.
    • Do not leave water running unnecessarily while washing your hands or brushing your teeth.
    • Take short showers.
    • Use the toilet flush sparingly and do not throw any unwanted objects into it.
    • Report leaking taps or pipes immediately to our colleagues at reception.
    • Only open the tap when you really need water, e.g. for drinking.
    • Use the water-saving functions on our washing machines and dishwashers.

We are happy to order the cleaning service for your laundry from Monday to Friday. If you hand in your laundry at the reception until 9.00 am, you will receive it back the same day until 6.00 pm. Express cleaning is also available upon request. Laundry bags and lists can be found in your closet.

Our guest laundry has washing machines, dryers and laundry

racks. The laundry is located on level 1 next to Apartment

123, and you are welcome to use it from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

free of charge. Reception can provide detergent for a small

fee.

We perform a partial cleaning after every third night and a

full clean after the sixth night. You are also welcome to book additional cleaning sessions for 15.00 EUR through reception.

Your apartment is cleaned every three days. Please contact our front office, if you like your trash to be emptied earlier.

If you would like to book a guaranteed late departure until 4:00 pm, you are welcome to arrange this in consultation with the reception or the reservation, subject to availability. We charge 40.00 EUR each for this.
